Pets such as cats and dogs can reenter the treated area once the product has been watered in and allowed to dry. Keep in mind that this product should not be watered for at least 24 hours after the application.
Turf Builder Weed and Feed may be applied, to registered lawn types, anytime weeds are actively growing. Be sure not to apply any products containing a lawn fertilizer within 6 weeks of using any other lawn fertilizer.
It's typically best to start applying fertilizers to your lawn after the first mowing of the season. Once the lawn has been mowed apply lime then apply Turf Builder with Halts and water the lawn. This can all be done on the same day. Follow-up 6 to 8 weeks later with the application of Turf Builder Weed & Feed.
Applied Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass on March 31, 2013. The yard now looks like a lawn. However, there are new broadleaf weeds and clover growing up in a number of spots. What would be a great and immediate solution? And what would be a great follow-up or next step to your solution. Thanks in advance.
You can apply Turf Builder Weed and Feed six to eight weeks after applying Turf Builder with Halts. Keep in mind that for weed killers to work the high temperatures for the day need to be hitting between sixty-five and eigthy-five degrees. This has to happen consistently every day after applying the product.
How long after seeding should you wait to use Scotts Turf Builder® Weed & Feed?
We are planning on putting down the Scotts Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass Preventer in March, then we know we need to seed and then we want to use the Scotts Turf Builder® Weed & Feed for all the other weeds. How long should we wait between each application and are we doing it in the correct order?
You will be able to sod or plant seed four months after treating an area with Scotts Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass Preventer. Because crabgrass preventers are formulated to keep your lawn crabgrass-free by preventing the crabgrass seeds from becoming established, desirable grass seeds will also be prevented from establishment. If you are planting larger areas of bluegrass, rye, or fescue seed, you may wish to use our Turf Builder Starter Fertilizer with Crabgrass Preventer or Step One for Seeding. These products have a different active ingredient that will prevent the establishment of crabgrass without hurting northern grass types. However, it does not last for four months, so we do recommend a follow up with Halts after six weeks. You need to wait 6 - 8 weeks between fertilizer applications so refrain from putting down any other fertilizer during that period.
Typically in Michigan with a mixed grass type consisting of bluegrass, ryegrass, fescue we suggest an application of Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass Preventer. Turf Builder Weed and Feed is usually suggested for the second application in your area. We suggest calling us and we can go over you full lawn program with you. 1-877-465-5160
He could be asking since the Canadian site lists this product to use. If you click the link it brings you to the US site. Next question would be what product would you recommend as a Canadian replacement for this.

Is this product safe for newly sodded Bermuda lawns?
I have a lawn that was newly sodded in October, 2012. Since, many weeds have sprung up in the seams between the sod patches. Is this product safe to use on the new sod? And, is early spring an appropriate time to apply?
In spring on Bahia we suggest waiting until after at least the second mowing before fertilizing. This is to ensure that the grass is actively growing. To obtain the best control of your weeds we suggest not mowing at least two days before your application and waiting at least 24 hours after the application before watering the product in, allowing it to dry, and then mowing.
We recommend keeping children and dogs out of the lawn for 24 hours as the weed control absorbs into the weed leaves. After 24 hours, it is ideal to have rain or water wash the granules off the weed leaves and allow grass to dry before reentry.
This product does not control crabgrass. It is used in the late spring or early summer for the control of broadleaf weeds. Early spring applications usually involve Turf Builder with Halts Crabgrass Preventer.
This product works best when the weeds are actively growing. Usually that means the night temperatures are staying above 50 and the daytime highs are below 85. Unfortunately, it does not prevent dandelions. It will only kill weeds that are present and in an active growth stage when it is applied.
